Abstract
This study introduces the implementation of a pilot makerspace model and community-based programs initiated by the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) with the objective of facilitating future industrialization and easy acclimatization to dynamic changes in the environment. Accordingly, the study focuses on cases of pre-existing makerspaces created by the US Army and US Marine Corps, based on which this study concludes that the community member-based makerspace model holds significance for the ROKA makerspace. This study further provides suggestions for the renovation of the unused space deemed necessary due to regulatory changes, and finally proposes a makerspace model that corresponds to innovations mentioned in the welfare provisions of the Republic of Korea Army Vision 2030 and recommends the use of models of operations wherein members can have a positive impact through their use of the space.
